: a family of toothed whales that are 12 to 30 feet long, have the front of the head drawn out so as to suggest a beak and the teeth wanting or reduced to one or two on each side of the lower jaw, and are related to the sperm whales and sometimes especially formerly included with them in the family Physeteridae
